State law requires that employers which do not already offer an employer-sponsored retirement plan must implement one or enroll in CalSavers. ALL employers must enroll by the below deadline or register for exemption if a retirement option is already in place before the deadline.

CalSavers Registration Deadlines:
- Do you have 100 or more employees? Deadline was 09/30/2020
- Do you have 50 or more employees? Deadline is 06/30/2021
- Do you have 5 or more employees? Deadline is 6/30/2022

Did you reach 100 employees in the period of 10/1/20-12/21/20?
If so, you must complete the EEO1 reporting. There is a new deadline of August 23, 2021. Find more info here.
Do you have a Retirement Program in place for your staff?
If you have 50 or more employees, the deadline to set up or declare your existing program was 6/30/2021. If you haven’t already, register here.
Do you have employees in one of the 8 CA cities that has a higher minimum wage that took effect 7/1/2021? Make sure all staff are making at least the applicable minimum wage for their city.
Do you offer a 401(k), Profit-sharing or another retirement plan? The Form 5500 is due 8/2/2021. See here for more info.
